19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
The win also indicates he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's defensive approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his first professional victory, took control to push for a third set.
Moutet defended 4 initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, he secured the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
